: The study protocol for ascitic sample collection and clinical information was performed in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and was approved by the IRCCS-Regina Elena National Cancer Institute institutional review board. Patient provided written informed consent to authorize the collection and use of the sample employed in this study. Procedures involving animals and their care were conducted with the permission from the IRCCS Regina Elena Cancer Institute Animal Care and Use Committee and the Italian Ministry of Health (D.lgs 26/2014, authorization number 1083/2020PR, issued 5 November 2020 by Ministero della Salute). All methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations.
