: All methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations. The use of aortic tissues from patients undergoing surgery at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein, Kiel, Germany was granted by the Ethical Board of the Medical Faculty, University of Kiel, under the permission no. P2N 2024-011. Informed consent was obtained from all patients donating tissue. Animal experiments were carried out under the guidelines from directive 2010/63/EU of the European Parliament on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes. Permission for organ removal for generation of primary cells was granted by the animal ethics board of the Ministry of Energy, Agriculture, the Environment, Nature and Digitalization Schleswig-Holstein (MELUND), permission no. V312-7224.121-4. In vivo studies in mice were approved by the MELUND, permission no. V242-56596/2022.
