: The current study did not report individual participant data in any form, so informed consent was not applicable. All authors reviewed the manuscript and consented for publication.
: This study obtained approval from the institutional review boards of each participating hospital and adhered to the principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki. Informed patient consent was waived retrospectively by the three study institutes and prospectively for the prospective validation dataset, as all samples were irreversibly anonymized by the institutional review boards. Participants in the randomized observational trial provided written informed consent prior to their involvement. The study was registered on ClinicalTrials.gov (Number NCT04551287).
