She currently receives funding from Sanofi for research on influenza and pertussis. She is the director of EPIWATCH, which is a University of New South Wales Kirby Institute early pandemic warning system. She has been on the WHO COVID-19 Vaccine Composition Technical Advisory group (2021–2024) and is on the WHO SAGE working group on mpox and smallpox.
