: L.S. (a Director of Mainstream Biological Consulting) is hired on a yearly basis by the aquaculture producers in BC (Cermaq Canada, Grieg Seafood BC and MOWI Canada West) to sample wild juvenile salmon for sea lice infestation assessment to fulfill the conditions of license or as part of environmental certification programmes. G.M. was provided with a modest consultation fee from BCSFA to support the incorporation of additional datasets and the documentation of Python coding, requested during the review process for this manuscript.
