: Dr. Myckatyn has functioned as a paid consultant by Allergan and Mentor - two leading breast implant manufacturers. He has received grant funds from both to study outcomes following breast implant placement. There are no industry funds associated with this study. Dr. Myckatyn is an unpaid member of the BIA-ALCL task force of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the grant funding for this study came from the American Society of Plastic Surgery. Similarly, Dr. Clemens, the other plastic surgeon author has received consulting fees from breast implant companies in the past. Dr. Clemens is on the BIA-ALCL task force for both the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, and the American Society of Plastic Surgery. These are unpaid positions. None off the other authors have any remotely related disclosures, potential conflicts, or competing interests.
