: Ethical approval was obtained from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the Adama Hospital Medical College and the study was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. Department of Public Health. The authors received support letters from both administrative offices and the regional health bureau. The participants were informed about the study objective and their right to participate and withdraw at any time during the study period. Then, the participants gave their consent to participate in the study before data collection proceeded. The data were collected in a separate room after the participants provided informed verbal consent. Finally, counseling on the methods of prevention and management of obesity was given to the study participants after the study was completed. The confidentiality of the information was protected by using codes assigned to each participant.
