: There are no conflicts involved in the research and submission of this article. The permission was obtained from the Directorate of Education and Post Graduate Studies, UAS, Dharwad to collect <i>Striga asiatica</i> from the relevant study areas. Voucher specimens of <i>Striga asiatica</i> have been deposited in the Weed Control Scheme and Department of Agronomy. These specimens were collected manually from <i>Striga</i> prone villages and were physically destroyed after the completion of experiment. The voucher specimens have been preserved as herbariums labelled as <i>Striga asiatica</i> and was identified by Dr. Ramesh Babu an expert in the weed management research. These actions ensure compliance with research protocols and ethical requirements.
