: This study involved a secondary analysis of publicly available from the Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) webpage (). We obtained approval from the DHS to access and use the dataset for this study (approval no. 2024-09-02). The MDHS 2015–16 received ethical approval from the Institutional Review Board of Inner-City Fund (ICF) International in the USA. This study adhered to the principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki, and ICF International ensured that the survey complied with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services regulations for the protection of human subjects. Written informed consent was obtained from all adult participants, while consent for individuals under the age of 18 was obtained from their parents or guardians.
