Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The plant material utilised in this study, in the form of leaf fragments, was collected without the required permits in Poland due to the lack of conservation status in the Regulation on the Protection of Plant Species. In the Czech Republic, the material was collected from the population after mowing the meadows there. Sampling in Germany was carried out on the basis of a named permit for one of the co-authors (M.W.), issued by Landesamt für Umwelt Brandenburg (LfU); Land Brandenburg, permission number: Gesch-Z.:LFU-LfU-4756/3611#201690/2023. The DNA isolates were deposited in the Herbarium UGDA (voucher numbers were included in Table S1).
