: This study adhered to ethical guidelines and received approval from the Ethics Committee of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (Ethical code: IR.MUMS.MEDICAL.REC.1398.122), and all methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations. All participants in the study gave informed consent, and their personal details were kept confidential through coding.The study included a provision for intervention: if a patient’s QOL was assessed as low following the interview and questionnaire completion by a researcher, they were referred to a collaborating psychiatrist for appropriate interventions.
