: Ethical approval was obtained from Gulu University Research Ethic Committee (GUREC Ref. No: 2023-587). Administrative clearances were sought from hospital administrators of St. Mary’s Hospital-Lacor (ADMIN No: 0234/08/2023) and Gulu Regional Referral Hospital (ADM No: 2023/07/08). Women who develop mental disorder or emotional breakdown were to be referred to psychiatry ward or social worker/counsellor for evaluation and assistance. Informed written consent or assent was obtain from all study participants. Participation in and withdrawal from the study was free and voluntary with no penalty. Privacy was observed by interviewing participants in a private and comfortable place. Declaration of Helsinki for the conduct of research involving human subjects was followed.
