For this type of study formal informed consent is not required, as the research presented consists of a retrospective analysis of tumor tissue collected during routine surgical procedures. No additional tissue sampling was performed for research purposes and the independent ethics committee of the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg officially waived this requirement.
