: This study adhered to the ARRIVE guidelines established by the National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement & Reduction of Animals in Research (NC3Rs). All experimental protocols were approved by the Committee for the Ethical Use of Animals in Experimentation at Guarulhos University (Guarulhos, SP, Brazil), under protocol numbers 064/24 (A. cantonensis) and 065/24 (S. mansoni).
