: This study was carried out in compliance with the ARRIVE Guidelines for reporting animal research57. Protocols were developed in accordance with the Cruelty to Animals Act (Ireland 1876, as amended by European Communities regulations 2002 and 2005), and the European Community Directive 86/609/EC. In Ireland, all animal procedures were conducted under an experimental license from the Health Products Regulatory Authority, and the study was approved by the Teagasc animal ethics committee. In Norway, the study was approved by the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (FOTS ID 13168).
