Declarations
:
: The authors declare no competing interests.
: The study was conducted according to the guidelines of the Declaration of Helsinki and approved by the Institutional Review Board of the National Healthcare Group on 16 November 2023 (DSRB no. 2023/00809).
: Informed consent was waived as the study involved a retrospective extraction of antibiotic prescription records from an internal database and the data was de-identified before analysis. The risks to participants were minimal as this study had no bearings on their day-to-day clinical care and management. The information extracted would have been collected in the participant’s medical records or as part of the normal running of business operations regardless of whether he or she was participating in this study. Informed consent would not have been feasible in terms of time and resources as participants were no longer on follow-up.
