We acquired informed consent from patients or their relatives. All procedures performed in this study were in accordance with the ethical standards of the institutional and with the 1964 Helsinki Declaration and this study aimed to identify new key biomarkers that could predict outcomes in sepsis patients and explore its underlying molecular mechanisms later amendments or comparable ethical standards.
