: Canine skin samples were obtained exclusively from routine diagnostic procedures at a veterinary pathology unit. No live animals were used, handled, or sampled for the purposes of this study. The animals were not handled or sampled by the authors; all skin samples were collected post-diagnostically from the laboratory. According to the Landesamt für Gesundheit und Soziales Berlin (LAGeSo), this does not constitute an animal experiment under German law (StN 010/24). Therefore, no ethical approval was required.
