: Umbilical cord blood units were obtained from healthy donors at Hospital São Francisco Xavier, Centro Hospitalar de Lisboa Ocidental (Lisbon, Portugal), upon informed consent, according to Directive 2004/23/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 31 March 2004 regarding standards of quality and safety for the donation, procurement, testing, processing, preservation, storage, and distribution of human tissues and cells (Portuguese Law 22/2007, 29 June). The study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Centro Hospitalar de Lisboa Ocidental (CHLO). All methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations.
