The National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR) is the nodal organization in India for the management of plant genetic resources (PGR), including their import and exchange. The seed/plant material used under the current study were procured following all the necessary protocols mandatory for the issue of import permit by ICAR-NBPGR for the exotic germplasm exchange to take place. The research material was supplied from the exotic sources only after the issue of the import permit ( ).
