: This study was reviewed and approved by the University of Saskatchewan Biomedical Research Ethics Board (Bio-REB) and received operational approval from the Saskatchewan Health Authority, Canada. All participants were recruited from the hemodialysis center at St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon, Canada. Written informed consent was obtained from all participants prior to sample collection. All methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations.
