: The identification of Quercus suber L. was carried out by Prof. Lahboub Bouyazza and Mehdi Taib (specialists in botany/phytochemistry) and confirmed by the ANEF forestry maps. No specimen was deposited in a herbarium as the species, being common and dominant in the study area, is perfectly characterized. The leaf collection (2 kg), considered non-destructive, was carried out with the agreement of the local authorities who deemed that no formal authorization was required for this minimal sampling, in accordance with IUCN principles.
