: We followed a study protocol that the UMass Chan Medical School Institutional Review Board (IRB) determined to be non-human subjects research, as defined by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Food and Drug Administration regulations (UMass Chan IRB ID: STUDY00000039). Therefore, informed consent was not required from participants in the experimental epidemic game conducted at WKU. The protocol was also approved by the WKU Ethics Committee. All methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations.
