: We followed a study protocol that the UMass Chan Medical School Institutional Review Board (IRB) determined to be non-human subjects research, as defined by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Food and Drug Administration regulations (UMass Chan IRB ID: STUDY00000039). Therefore, informed consent was not required from participants in the experimental epidemic game conducted at WKU. The protocol was also approved by the WKU Ethics Committee.
