: All experiments were performed on pre-hatching chicken embryos. Under Directive 2010/63/EU and the corresponding Slovak legislation (Government Regulation No. 377/2012 Coll.), pre-hatching avian embryos are not classified as protected animals for scientific purposes. Because the embryos were not allowed to hatch and all experiments were terminated before hatching, formal Ethics Committee approval was not required. All experiments were performed in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations.
