Ethics approval and consent to participate: This study was conducted in accordance with the ethical principles of the Declaration of Helsinki and all applicable local regulations. Ethical approval for the larger study from which this data was drawn was obtained from the Makerere University School of Medicine Research Ethics Committee (Ref. Mak-SOMREC-2024–889) and the Uganda National Council of Science and Technology (Ref. HS4589ES). Written informed consent was obtained from caregivers, and assent was sought from children and adolescents aged 8 years and above. Participation was voluntary, and confidentiality was maintained through the anonymized collection and secure storage of data.
