: Seed acquisitions were conducted by SWISSAID through community engagement with verbal consent from village elders/households; seeds were purchased at fair local prices. Materials were transferred to FiBL under a non-commercial MTA (no IP claims, no onward transfer without consent, commitment to share results locally) and accompanied by the export/material-transfer permit for shipment to Switzerland. Prior analyses, the collected seed lots and backup aliquots were submitted to Institut Tchadien de Recherche Agronomique pour le Développement (ITRAD) at Bébédjia station - for national custodianship and future access through the national system. The collection is only for restrict use to non-commercial research. Findings and selection recommendations will be shared with participating communities and the national research center.
