Ethics approval and consent to participate: Plant materials were collected with formal permission from Cairo University. Voucher specimens were prepared and taxonomically identified by an official staff member at the Cairo University Herbarium (CAI), where they were compared with authenticated reference specimens. As the collected plant species are not already represented in other institutional collections, non-lethal sampling techniques were employed to obtain only the minimum number of specimens necessary to fulfil this research. All collected specimens were deposited at Cairo University Herbarium (CAI) under voucher numbers.
