: AbbVie is committed to humane care and use of laboratory animals. The animal study was reviewed and approved by AbbVie’s IACUC and in compliance with the NIH Guide for Care and Use of Laboratory Animals guidelines. The animal study was conducted in an AAALAC-accredited manner ensuring veterinary care and oversight was provided. AbbVie utilized 8- to 12-week-old female C57BL/6 N mice obtained from Charles Rivers Laboratories. Per the IACUC protocol, the maximal bodyweight loss allowable for each animal was ≥20%, which would warrant humane euthanasia. In most cases during our studies at Abbvie, any animal with 15% loss in body weight was euthanized and removed from study.
