: Surgical specimens of gastric cancers were obtained at the Cancer Institute Hospital of Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research (Tokyo, Japan) under the approval of an institutional review board (IRB) of the hospital with written informed consent of the patients. The research was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. All animal procedures and animal care were done, following national laws and policies (Guidelines for Proper Conduct of Animal Experiments, Science Council of Japan, 2006). The procedures were performed in the animal experiment room at JFCR using protocols approved by the JFCR Animal Care and Use Committee.
