Meta-analysed glioma GWAS data were obtained from the study by Melin et al.,<sup>21</sup> which is a meta-analysis of eight independent GWAS studies (UK,<sup>46</sup> French,<sup>47</sup> German,<sup>48</sup> MDA,<sup>49</sup> UCSF-SFAGS,<sup>49</sup> GliomaScan,<sup>50</sup> GICC<sup>51</sup> and UCSF/Mayo<sup>52</sup>) detailed in Supplementary Table A-C4. Genotype data from the Glioma International Case-Control Consortium Study GWAS are available from the database of Genotypes and Phenotypes (dbGaP) under accession phs001319.v1.p1.
