: The human cancer cells used in this study were obtained from commercial sources of previously established immortalised cell lines. All procedures performed in studies involving animals were carried out in line with the ethical standards of the Animal Research Ethics Committee, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (REC no. 1389) and in accordance with national and European Union legislation (Directive 2010/63/EU).
