: Three of the co-authors are affiliated with Takano Foods Corporation, which specializes in natto production. The company participated in the preparation of natto foods, the analysis of natto components, and provided funding for the purchase of reagents used in this study. However, Takano Foods Corporation had no role in the study design, data analysis, or interpretation of results relating to atherosclerosis in mice, gut microbiota analysis, or gene analysis in macrophages, and it did not influence the decision to publish.
