: We collected 23 ancient human bones and 3 animal bones from archeological sites in the Shaanxi Province of China (Table ). Approval for their use was curated by co-authors and obtained with permission from the respective provincial archeology institutes in the Shaanxi Province of China (where the samples are collected) that managed these bone samples. The approval and oversight of this study were also provided by the institutional review board at the Ethics Committee for Biological Research at Fudan University.
