: The study was approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (IRB NCBE Registration no.: H-01-R-005). The IRB approval for this study, titled <i>“Virtual Medicinal Chemistry Course: Student-Centered Learning During COVID-19 Pandemic - A Case of KSAU-HS”</i> (Study Number: SP20/472/R), was granted on 12 November 2020, under Memo Ref.No. IRBC/2073/20 E-CTS Ref. No.: RYD-20-419812-144502. The approval is valid for one year from the approval date and was obtained through an expedited review process. Subsequent review and approval of related documents, including the research proposal, data collection form, and informed consent form, were also conducted. No biological samples were involved in this study. All relevant terms of approval, including the retention of data and reporting of adverse events, have been adhered to.
: This study focused on evaluating learning methodologies and analyzing anonymized student performance data. Since no personally identifiable data was collected and the study did not involve vulnerable individuals or minors, informed consent forms were obtained and approved by the IRB (approval number: SP20/472/R) in compliance with institutional and ethical standards, ensuring participants’ rights and data confidentiality were safeguarded throughout the study. The study protocol, including the handling of anonymized data, was reviewed and approved by the IRB, approval number SP20/472/R, dated 12 November 2020.
