: As stated in the Nigerian National Code of Health Research Ethics () (see also ), ethical approval was not necessarily required for this study, given that it did not involve human or animal participants in a way that might cause harm (p. 5). Nonetheless, the ethical procedures for conducting the study were strictly guided by the 1964 Declaration of Helsinki.
: The informed consent of the participants was sought and obtained before data collection. The protocols of the consent included information about the objective and purpose of the research. In other words, research objective, purpose, potential risks and benefit of participation in the research were clearly communicated to the participants prior to the collection of data. All participants are over the age of 18 and willingly accepted to take part in the study. And ultimately, their confidentiality and anonymity were also strictly considered.
