: The authors declare no competing interests.
: The research was granted ethical approval retroactively by Copenhagen Business School (24-044). The research formed part of a master's thesis at Copenhagen Business School in 2017 when there were no ethics approval procedures in place for such research projects.
: Informed consent was obtained from all participants, who were all adults. The Indigenous community organization CIPLA issued a formal letter (in Spanish) on 7th July, 2017 authorizing and consenting to our fieldwork with their different communities. The letter was submitted to the journal and can be provided upon request. The letter authorized us to conduct research within the Leco communities. Implicit in the letter is that we were conducting this research for the purposes of a master's thesis and subsequent publications. This was discussed orally both before and during the fieldwork.
