: This study was approved by the Universitat Jaume I Research Ethics Committee (approval no. CD/08/2022) on August 2022, for conducting in-person and online interviews with autistic adults. All research was performed in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki.

: Written informed consent was obtained from all participants—autistic adults—prior to participation in the study. Consent forms were mailed by the main researcher and signed by each participant before starting interviews. Consent covered participation in the study, data collection, data use, and publication of results in an anonymized format—including the opportunity for participants to choose a pseudonym. Participants were fully informed via a detailed consent form that explained the purpose of the study, assured their anonymity, and outlined how their data would be stored and used. Consent was obtained between January and December of 2024, and copies of the signed consent forms are securely stored in compliance with data protection regulations.
