: In this perspective report, there is neither direct involvement of human participants nor were any personal data collected. Therefore, in accordance with the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki (Association, 2013), our commentary poses no risk to humans, and the authors did not obtain ethical approval for this perspective paper from both partner universities in Malawi. This report is explicitly describing the processes and experiences of developing a collaborative curriculum document by the consortium of five institutions.
