: This study was performed in line with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. Approval was granted by the Ethics Committee of Suranaree University of Technology on November 20, 2024, EC-67-0208.
: Participants provided written informed consent via a paper-based form before participating in the study from November 25 to December 20, 2024. The form explained the study’s purpose—to explore students’ engagement and mindset during language speaking tasks—and outlined procedures including a mindset survey, a mock interview, and follow-up interview questions. It assured participants of voluntary participation, the right to withdraw at any time, and guaranteed confidentiality and anonymity in all reporting. The form also clarified that data would be used solely for academic research and publication, with no effect on grades. Participants were informed of minimal risk and could skip questions or discontinue at any time.
