The study protocol, collection of biomaterial from vertebrate animals, and collection of clinical samples were approved by the Local Ethics Committee of the Research Institute for Complex Issues of Cardiovascular Diseases (protocol No. 5 dated April 10, 2023). The study was conducted in accordance with the principles of the European Convention for the Protection of Vertebrate Animals Used for Experimental and Other Scientific Purposes (Strasbourg, 1986), Directive 2010/63/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes (in line with the recommendations of the Russian Laboratory Animal Science Association, Rus-LASA), the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki (2013), and the standards of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
