ETHICS APPROVAL AND CONSENT TO PARTICIPATE
: This study did not require approval of the bioethical committee of the Institute of Biology of the KarRC RAS, as the biological material was obtained from animals obtained as a result of legal hunting, the terms of which were determined in accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia (no. 512 of November 16, 2010 “On Approval of Hunting Rules”), the Decree by the Head of the Republic of Karelia (no. 122 of September 20, 2012 “On hunting requirements at the hunting grounds of the Republic of Karelia except for specially protected natural territories of federal importance”). The animals were shot by hunters during the hunting seasons 2017–2022.
