: All studies were conducted in accordance with the International Standards for the Treatment of Animals, corresponding to Directive 2010/63/EU of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union of September 22, 2010 on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes ( ). In 2014 and 2015 permissions to carry out such work were not required, since there were no such standards in Russia. Research in 2019 was approved by the Bioethics Commission of the Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences, protocol No. 2 dated May 5, 2017.
