All studies are conducted in accordance with the principles of biomedical ethics formulated in the Helsinki Declaration of 1964 and its subsequent updates. The experiments were approved by the Committee on Biomedical Ethics of the Institute of Biomedical Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow) (Physiology department of the Russian Committee for Bioethics of UNESCO) and the international multilateral commission for the examination of human research (Human Research Multilateral Review Board). Each study participant gave voluntary written informed consent, signed by him after explaining to him the potential risks and benefits, as well as the nature of the forthcoming study.
