: All studies were conducted in accordance with the principles of biomedical ethics set out in the 1964 Helsinki Declaration and subsequent amendments thereto. They were also approved by the Biomedical Ethics Committee of the Institute of Biomedical Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow) (Physiology Department of the Russian Bioethics Committee NESCO) and the international multilateral commission for the examination of scientific research involving human subjects (Human Research Multilateral Review Board), protocol no. 235 of December 8, 2008.Each study participant gave voluntary written informed consent after receiving explanations about the potential risks and benefits, as well as the nature of the upcoming study.
