: (1) Results of the present study have contributed significant records for the molecular taxonomy of fish from the Hirakud dam.(2) Establishment of DNA barcode for the Hirakud dam Fishes.(3) In total, 47 specimens from 27 species belonging to 22 genera in 8 families and 7 orders were barcoded.
