: <i>Statement on the welfare of animals.</i> The collection of biomaterial was carried out by non-invasive methods, taking into account Directive 2010/63/EU of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes (Articles 9 and 42), and the methods used were in accordance with the recommendations of ASAB/ABS, Guidelines for the treatment of animals in behavioral research and teaching” (Buchanan et al., 2012).
