ETHICS APPROVAL AND CONSENT TO PARTICIPATE
: This study does not need any formal consent as the experimental fish, Channa punctata is widely distributed in the River Gomti at Lucknow region. The collection sites were not restricted areas but fishing is carried out commercially. The species is designated as ‘least concern’ by IUCN’s Red List of threatened species. The study complies with the existing rules and guidelines outlined by the Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), guidelines for laboratory animal facility, Government of India. All applicable international, national, and/or institutional guidelines for the care and use of animals were followed.
