ETHICS APPROVAL AND CONSENT TO PARTICIPATE

: The date of signing the eel fishing permit was 28th February 2023, and the number of the eel harvesting permit was ZT-000213, with an expiry date of three months (from 1st March 2023 to 31st May 2023). The fish sample was immediately frozen and transported to the Fishery Ecology and Biodiversity Laboratory (FEBL) of Zhejiang Ocean University. Animal experiments were approved by the Laboratory Animal Welfare and Ethics Committee of Zhejiang Ocean University, Zhoushan, China (Approved no. ZJOU-2023-015).
