: The most important person with whom we have been constantly discussing all this for the past 20 years is Oleg Ivanov. Oleg and I metat school and were connected by 50 years of friendship, and all this time we learned from each other. I owe him much. In recent years, he has experimented a lot with computer algebra systems in teaching, both at school [7–12] and at the university level [4, 13, 44]. He was able to explain clearly, while retaining intrigue in a way that rarely anyone succeeds with. His book [6] is an absolute classic in explaining the spirit of mathematics to people of any background, just like the books of Klein [15] or Pólya [23]; it is one of the very few books that, after reading for the first time to the end, I immediately started to read it again from the very beginning.
