: Ethical clearance was obtained from the Institutional Review Board of the University of Gondar. The purpose of the study was clearly explained to the study subjects and to school directors and parents of the students, and assent was obtained from them. Written consent was obtained. Confidentiality of the information had been maintained at all levels of the study. Students found infected received anti-scabies medications made of benzyl benzoate along with their entourage, given free of charge.
